What is Safeguarding?
Safeguarding is protecting children and vulnerable adults entrusted to our care.
The Church takes this responsibility so seriously that it has set up a national body for policies and guidance to make sure that we are fulfilling our legal and pastoral responsibilities.
Our Diocese has hired a Safeguarding Officer and she and her team keep the parishes up to date with current legislation and provide training opportunities throughout the Diocese for our priests, employees of the Diocese and our many generous volunteers.
Parishes throughout the Diocese also have volunteer Local Safeguarding Representatives.
Hampshire Downs' Local Safeguarding Rep is
Wini Meikle. If you have any concerns or queries, please contact Wini on 01962 714509
