Gerard Dailly, from St Gregory's Alresford,
was ordained to the permanent diaconate
by Bishop Crispian
on Sunday 28th June
in St John’s Cathedral, Portsmouth.

A large number of people from our parish travelled to the cathedral for the "seriously joyful" celebration (Bishop Crispian's words), and some 20 of our parish musicians sang in the choir. Among those present were fellow Confirmation catechists and some of our recently confirmed young people.
The liturgical celebration was followed by a party in St Peter's School.
More reports and photos to follow.
Many thanks to those who kindly organised and drove minibuses, to those who sang, and to those who organised and prepared food for the party.
Thanks to all who supported Gerard and his family through their presence and prayers.
Gerard now joins the parish clergy team and will work in all the Worshipping Communities. He will assist the priests at Masses and at Baptisms and funerals throughout the Parish.
Please continue to pray for Gerard and his family.
