Covenant with the Poor was started by the parish in 1997.
In the Covenant we pledge ourselves to work for the transformation of those conditions which afflict the poor and outcasts of society.
A new Covenant is signed each Pentecost when we start raising money for that year’s cause.
Over the years, we have supported a wide range of projects including:
• the Trinity Centre in Winchester
• a clinic in Honduras, Wells for India
• Hope and Homes for Children
• the Sisters of St Lucy’s mission in Eritrea
• the Winchester Visitors' Group
• Potter’s House, which cares for children living on the municipal dump in Guatamala city
• Emmaus Hampshire
• Afghanaid
We have four appeals each year to raise money.
We hold meetings throughout the year which are advertised in the newsletter and are open to everyone.
